Tips and leads

Have a document, a dataset, a screenshot, or just a hunch worth chasing? Send it. The best investigations start with one person who got tired of watching it happen.

If sharing this could put your job or your safety at risk, protect yourself first. Do not write to us from a work account or a company device. Use a personal email, or set up a free, anonymous one. If you need a more secure way to reach us, say so before you send anything sensitive and we will set one up.

Your own receipts

Got hit with a fee that came out of nowhere? A price that moved depending on your phone or your zip code? Fine print that cost you real money? Tell us. The biggest patterns we find usually start with one reader noticing one strange charge.

Corrections

We promised to fix our mistakes in the open. If you think we got something wrong, send the detail and the source. We will check it, and we will correct the record if you are right.
